Below are a selection of lyric videos from Elbows’ Tales From The Old Mill. Feelings of nostalgia and traveling back in time via memories were two big themes of Tales, and to extend that feeling into the lyric videos and graphics I used Cooper Black font, with its inherent connotation of nostalgia and retro Americana. Rather than type the text, however, I hand-drew the letters to inject a homemade quality, like the home-recorded nature of much of the music on Tales.
